On the hunt for classic canadiana
Okay, so I'm really interested in getting another tattoo, specifically a phoenix graphic (think story book myth kind versus on the hood of a firebird kind)and I have a very particular pre-existing(?) design in my mind and I can't seem to track it down (or even get anyone a part from the boy who remembers it) and it's making me insane. I'm certain that as a small child I watched an NFB short about a phoenix where it's a little girl reading a story book (the style is charcoaly, white on black maybe vice versa) and it tells the story of the myth (like the phoenix flies out of the page etc). Now the only listing I can find in the NFB catalogue is for this 1990 film http://www.nfb.ca/trouverunfilm/fichefi lm.php?id=18433&v=h&lg=en&exp=${phoenix} which at first I was like, oh oh this is it, but it really does seem to me that the one I'm thinking of WAS NOT in colour. Could it be I am doing the false memory thing and combining the style of another NFB short with the plot of this one... Help! Can any of you confirm whether or not this charcoal phoenix short exists or alternately my delusions that it does?
